Handmade Christmas: Altered Tin

This is an altered tin that makes an ideal little Christmas gift either given alone filled with sweet treats, or added to a home made goodie basket tied with a big red bow.  This one is filled with chocolates and goes with a whole ensemble of Christmas goodies.  I love the look of Vintage Christmas that it reminds me of.

Vintage Christmas Collection…

Here I’ve altered a simple store bought tote/case to create a lovely custom Christmas gift.  I have lots of Christmas ideas on my website to share how you can fill this.  Create a Handmade Christmas for special memories.

Hello Lovely Ladies!  Happy Saturday to each of you! :o)  I only have a quick minute to post because we are about to start my sweet hubby’s 40th birthday party, but I wanted to share some projects that I’ve been working on for entries into the WMS Tag, You’re It challenge.  I wanted them each to have a vintage Christmas feel to them.

The first project is an altered box that I created.  This is the before picture of the box:

This is what I created:  I added lots of acrylic paint, crackle medium, and vintage Christmas papers inside and out.

Gift Box and Cards

Handmade 3×3 gift box and notecards that I created using Basic Grey Green at Heart paper collection.  The flower was created using the Sizzix Daisy #2 die.

Hi Ladies,

Where has the week gone to?  It seems that as the weather changes that the days just seem to go by so much faster.   We have some family plans over the weekend, so I’m super excited.  I am just popping in rather quickly to share a couple of projects with you that I’ve made over the past week. The “Miss ya…” card is a standard 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ size.  The paper collection and embellishments are from the  Basic Gray Green at Heart collection.  I made the flower using the Daisy #2 Sizzix Bigz die cut from Bazzill cardstock.

These aren’t papers that I am naturally drawn to, but this is the collection from the September kit, and it has been fun to work with.  They are very whimsical and bright.

I created this sweet little 3″ x 3″ gift box using green Bazzill cardstock from the kit.  I punched a decorative strip using a MS punch and then cut it in half lengthwise and attached it around the lid of the box.  I added tiny gems to the “flower” centers although it’s really hard to see in the photo.  I made the lollipop flower using satin fabric.

I made a matching 3″ x 3″ little notecard and added a decorative paper to the envelope flap.  (The envie came from Stampin’ Up!) It makes a quick little project and a special custom gift.

Well, that’s about it for today.  Thank you for taking the time to stop by, your visits are much appreciated.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend. xx

Prima Annalee Mini Calendar

Mini 2010 calendar created using coasters and the Prima Annalee paper collection, Prima lace and flowers, Webster’s Pages, and  lots of other yummy products.

Hello Lovelies,  It’s Friday again and boy has it been a busy week!  It’s been a good one, but I’m definitely looking forward to some down-time over the weekend.  I did manage to get in a little creative time last night and made this 4×4 2011 desk calendar.  I used the Prima Annalee collection, some pre-made mini calendar pages, and some coasters.  I used 1 1/4″ Bind-it-All wires so it would have plenty of room for embellies and so it would flip easily.

Hope you like it and that it gives you an idea of a quick project that you can create.  Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend. :c) xx

Chipboard wall decor…

This is a chipboard wall hanging that I created using the chipboard die cuts that came with the K&Co. chipboard album for this month. I’ve added Basic Grey papers from the Green at Heart collection.

Last Friday, you may recall that I mentioned that I had a project to share using the chipboard pieces that originally came with the “School Daze” album that I made from the K&Co. album.  The chipboard album came in the September kit that I created for my youngest daughter.   I didn’t want to use the chipboard pieces that came with it in her album., so I made a little wall hanging for my eldest daughter.  It was kind of awkward to photograph because of the length of it, so I also did some close up photos for you to have a better idea of what I did with them.

I covered each of the pieces with the patterned paper from the kit, added eyelets and jump rings, and these lovely connectors that I picked up while we were in the States this past summer.   The little gold confetti stars came in the kit as well.  I added some of them behind the large “dew drop” and also added some to the “K” after I melted UTEE onto it.

The scalloped frame above that I painted and crackled did not come in the kit, it came from my stash.

My daughter really likes it; which makes me happy.  She took it in her room and hung it right up – that’s a good sign, I think, coming from a 15-year old. :c)  lol

It’s been a busy, busy week:  our first week of school has been wonderful but we’re all excited about the weekend.  Thanks for stopping by today, I truly appreciate it.  xx

Mini Album: School Daze…

Using a raw chipboard journal, I’ve created this school journal. I painted and crackled the chipboard and used Basic Grey papers throughout.

Happy Friday – the last Friday before my kiddos start school – ahhhhh!  I’m not ready for this!!!!! (Just joking)  Well, my baby is going into 6th grade this year (as hard to believe as that is for me) it is happening none the less.  So, to celebrate her official milestone as a tweenager, I made this little journal/memory book for her.  I hope to have a video posted explaining things, but since I’m scheduling this post before we leave for London and don’t know what my internet will be like at our hotel, I’m not sure when I will get it uploaded.  It’s pretty self-explainatory though by the page titles.  Just a little something for her to keep and to look back on later.  Hope you enjoy seeing it.

This was creating using the K&Co. Raw Chipboard book that was included in the September kit. All papers and Basic Grey die cuts are from the kit.
Thanks for stopping by to visit me, I hope you’ve found some inspiration here.  I always appreciate your visits and wish you a wonderful weekend.  (((Hugs)))
