Coffee Sleeve Mini Album

I created this simple, quick mini album using Tim Horton’s coffee sleeves.  It was a lot of fun to create.  I made it for Natasha who serves as our DT coordinator for the Wild Orchid Crafts design team as a thank you for a RAK that she sent me.  Thanks again Natasha. :c)  Hope you like it…

And here’s a video…

Moments…

Hello and a very happy Monday to each of you!  I hope you are having a great day so far…yes, even for a Monday. Ü  Thank you so much for stopping by today to see what I’ve been up to,  I truly appreciate it.  I also want to say thank you for sticking with me and continuing to follow me.  It’s such a busy time for me right now that I truly don’t have a lot of crafting time to work on more detailed projects and techniques at the moment.  Oh, I posted the other day about all of the packing that I am doing and forgot that although I explained things on my YouTube channel, I may not have done so here.    The reason we are packing is that we are going to be in the States all summer (our eldest is graduating and also needs to get his US Driver’s License, take his ACT, finish registering for college, etc.).  We will be away until September and circumstances with our present house made it to where we must put our belongings in a storage unit here in Ireland.  (Long story)  Of course, moving is my least favorite thing in the world to do, especially this one.  We have to write down the contents of each box; which makes it take even longer, and finish all of our schooling at the same time.  Anyway, that’s the story of my life at the moment.

Handmade Moments card

So, anytime in my craft room is a mini vacation for me at the moment.  It really is relaxing for me.  I’ve packed a few boxes of my things but am holding off as long as I can with the rest.  Yes, I will be taking lots of supplies back to the States with me.  I would definitely not be able to go that long without getting inky.  I’m looking forward to getting back into creating mini albums as I will have more time.  My kiddos have less than 2 weeks of school so I’ll have a lot more free time.  SO looking forward to it!  So, be on the look out for a mini album coming up.

Finally, onto today’s card (thanks for reading this far down through my “wordy” post!)  This stamp is called We Do Not Remember from I Brake for Stamps.  Don’t you love the different fonts?  I sure do.  I’ve used this stamp for several different types of projects.  I just felt like making a simple, cute card today.  I’ve used Webster’s Pages paper and trim, and some Prima products.  I distressed the edges and inked them with Vintage Photo Distress ink.  I so wish I owned that hammock that’s on the paper, it looks really relaxing to me.  Oh, I keep meaning to mention in a post to let you know that the amazing Wild Orchid Crafts flowers (which I adore) are now available through I Brake for Stamps in many varieties. They’re going fast!   If you would like to place an order, remember that you can save 10% off of your entire order, no matter what it is by using my discount code (SAVE10ROBYN).  I’m always happy to share it, so enjoy!   Also, Tim Holtz dies are 30% off at the moment too(even before using my discount!)

Well, that’s it from me today, thanks again for stopping by.  I hope you’re able to get your finger’s inky today and create something special.  Big crafty (((Hugs))) to you!

I’m home :)

Hi Everyone,  I wanted to post a quick note to say a huge “Thank you!!!” for all of your kind, encouraging, and heartwarming e-mails and comments.  I truly appreciate each and every one.  I know I’ve said that before but I sincerely mean it.  Your words of encouragement have been such a help to me during this difficult time.
It was a rough trip back to the States, but I’m so glad that I was able to be there with my family.  I was able to spend a day and a half at my grandmother’s bedside before she slipped away.  The family was all together so I’m sure it was as she would have wanted it.  I didn’t know until I arrived just how terrible she was afflicted with cancer and although my heart is broken from missing her I have to just be grateful that she never had to suffer through the agony of cancer.  It is, to me, a miracle that although the cancer was so severe in her breast, stomach, around her lungs, and even in her brain and yet she was not in severe pain and was able to enjoy the quality of life she had during her last week at home.  We assume she must have known about the cancer as it was terrible visibly, and yet she maintained that she was “treating a boil” to my grandfather.  For whatever reason, it was the way she wanted it.

I was able to be there for my grandfather to do whatever he needed for the 3 weeks as well as my parents (it was my mom’s mom) and my brother and sisters so I’m at peace and enjoying the comfort that only God can bring during a time like this.  I didn’t have a chance to get online or even craft the entire time I was in the States, but that’s okay.  I’m happy to be home now with my husband and children today and do the best I can each day.

Crafting has been a wonderful outlet for me, and I know it will help me to be able to get back in my craft room…hopefully even today!  I love you all and I appreciate you.  I appreciate your friendship and the fact that you take the time to stop by my site.  I hope you are having a good week.  (((Hugs)))

Update…

I wanted to pop on and share an update with all of you.  First, I have to say Thank you for all of the amazing words of encourageent and for your assurance of prayer for my family and I.  I cannot tell you how much each of your comments, private e-mails, and your friendship means to me.  Words cannot adequately convey how much your messages have been a blessing and brought encouragement and strength to my heart.

My heart’s desire is to send each and every one of you a personal message to thank you by name for your kind words.  I wish you knew how much you have meant to me, and I apologize that I’m not able to write all of you personally instead of collectively here in this post.  You have given me exactly what I need right now: your friendship, encouragement, and most of all your prayers.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I wanted to let you know that I will be flying out on Wednesday morning and Lord willing, I will arrived in Michigan on Wednesday evening.  My grandmother is not well at all.  On top of the stage-4 cancer I mentioned in my last post, she also has a terrible case of pneumonia.   She is breathing only with the aid of a tracheotomy and machines, and the doctor has told the family he will do what he can to keep her stable until I arrive.  The family is doing as well as can be expected with the exception of my granddad and my mom.  They are having a very difficult time.  My mom is an only child, so my dad, my siblings and I are trying to stay strong for the two of them.

There is still so much to do before I fly out.  I’ve never been away from my family for 3 weeks before so I’m trying to anticipate what their needs will be while I’m away and do what I can before I leave.  I have a couple of projects still that I want to share with you, but I just need to stop and take photos so I can schedule the posts. :c)

Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you SO much for each of your comments and personal messages.  You have been such an encouragement to me.  What wonderful friends you are.  Much Love to each of you.   (((Hugs)))

Please pray…

Hello Everyone,

I normally don’t post things of a personal nature here on my blog.  Not that I don’t want to be transparent with you, but I feel like you visit my blog for creative inspiration so that I what I always hope to share with you.  However, I have a need today.  I’m feeling pretty sad and just felt I wanted to turn to you and share a little of what is consuming my heart today.

Some days, being all the way across the ocean from friends and family can be more difficult than at other times and days.  Right now, it seems there are WAY too many miles between my loved ones and I.  Just a couple of hours ago, I received a call from my brother in America informing me that my grandmother was rushed to the emergency room because she had stopped breathing and had passed out.  The ambulance came and took her to the hospital where the family has just received news that she has advanced stage-4 breast cancer.  My grandmother does not yet know as she has been sedated since arrival.  To put it short, the prognosis is not good.  My sister has driven up (to Toledo, OH) from Atlanta, my parents who have been snowbirds in Florida all winter are about 3 hours south of Toledo as I type this.  My brother and other sister are at the hospital with my dear granddad.  Where am I?  Sitting in my living room having shed a bucket-full of tears.  I feel like I might as well be a million miles away as there is nothing I can do to comfort anyone or to just “be there.”

I need to “share” with someone, and since I consider you who follow my work to be friends I thought I would  come to you.  If you pray, I would really appreciate your prayers on her behalf.   I know she is an older woman and the situation is serious, but more than anything, I just seek God’s will and  simply for my grandmother to not be in any pain.  I also long for  my dear granddad to have the grace to face what lies before him in the days and weeks ahead.  He and my grandmother have been married for over 60 years and are the type of couple that are always together.  They were, up to this point, thought to be in relatively good health so this has been quite a shock for all of us.   If you are a Christian, I would truly appreciate your prayers.  God is good, all the time and I know it will all work out as it should.

My husband is working on booking a flight for me, so I should be able to fly home in the next 48-72 hours.  Under “normal” circumstances, I’d never make an international flight by myself.  I’m too much of a scaredy-cat that way, with all of the “what ifs” that could happen along the way.  Its way out of my comfort zone, but I’m going to put my big girl hat on  for this one.  It looks like I’ll have a really short lay-over in France so will need to book it to catch my connection to Detroit.  I wish my family could travel with me but its impossible at the moment.

I have some projects to share with you and will schedule them over the next couple of days to share with you.  Thank you for reading this far, and  I apologize in advance for any typos.  You all are just the best.  Thanks for listening, I feel a little better already. (((Hug)))
