Magazine Commissions: Cards 4-6
Hi Everyone, I hope you are having a good week. I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already! It has been a crazy-busy week here so I haven’t had a chance to post the rest of the cards that I did for the August 2011 issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine (#94). I thought I would just finish sharing them with you today. I know for many of us, the theme will be irrelevant for an August card but the UK (from what I understand) has August finishing exams and graduations so these are just in time for their school schedule. Hope you enjoy seeing them.

This first one is my favorite. I just love this little Greeting Farm stamp. (Please forgive me for not having product details for what I used on these cards. I made them back in April and sent them off to the magazine…and I’m not home to check my supplies). If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask, I will sure do my best to answer them. I do remember that he papers for this first card are from American Crafts, and I just typed the sentiment up on my computer and printed it off. I cut it out using a Nestabilies die. The frame is a Sizzix die.

I used my Letraset Promarkers to color in the little girl, and did some paper piecing on her dress. She’s so cute. I love her sweet little expression.
This second one is a Stampavie stamp…

The last one is a pdf template that I have available as a free card tutorial HERE. I didn’t know until I purchased my Cricut E2 in May that the Wild Card Cartridge has a Grad Cap card. That sure makes it easier, but if you would like to save the file please feel free to download the template. :c) It prints off on a regular piece of 8.5 x 11″ paper.

Thanks for stopping by today, I truly appreciate it! Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week. xx
Magazine Commissions; Day 3 of 6
Hello once again and a very happy Monday to each of you! I hope your week is getting off to a good start. :) Today, I’m sharing my 3rd card with you, and if you’re just popping in for the first time I’ll be sharing 2 very similar cards for good reason. To read more about it you can do so HERE.
This is probably my favorite rubber stamp of the 3 I’ve shared thus far. It’s called ‘Miss Rachel in the Garden‘, again these are all I Brake for Stamps stamps that the magazine requested that I use. There are 3 other “Miss Rachel” stamps on the IBFS website. You can see the others HERE , HERE, and HERE.
This first card is the “wrong” card for the Promarker colors that I was to use for the magazine, and the second one is the correct colored markers (I explained what that means in day 1 of my card posts).

The second one really isn’t that different, I just changed the marker colors and used a different ribbon and rub-on sentiment… (the lighting is way off in the picture below – sorry about that it wasn’t a good lighting day that day).
I’m off to do a bit of painting in the dining room; not too much fun and I’d rather be crafting but it will be a good job to get done. Hope you are enjoying seeing these. The last 3 cards are the “Graduation” or “Congratulations on completing your exams” cards that I made for the August issue. I’ll break those up over the next couple of posts. Thanks for stopping by today. xx
If you would like to place an order through the I Brake for Stamps website, I invite you to save 10% on everything (including dies, flowers, and paper pads, etc), please feel free to use my discount code: SAVE10ROBYN. Enjoy! :c)
Magazine Commissions; Day 1 of 6
Hello there Lovelies,
Today, I’m going to start posting the cards that I created for the August 2011 (#94) issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine. I’ll break them up over the next couple of days so I don’t have one long, heavy post.
First, it’s kind of a funny story…well in a dry sort of way. When the magazine contacted me and asked me to create the 6 cards for this issue we were in the midst of packing our things up to put them in storage for our summer trip to the States. After a couple of days, I let them know that I could do it. In the rush of things, I neglected to notice one detail: I was to use very specific Letraset Promarker colours. The colours they are giving away as subscription gifts. So, I got the cards finished only to notice that I was to use the specific sets. Bummer! So, I started the cards again (just the 3 for the Subs Gift) and then sent them off.
I thought that since I’ve not shared the “goofed” cards with you that each day I would post the “wrong card” as well as the corrected one. I found the corrected ones to be quite a challenge for me as they are not colours that I would have normally selected, but it’s good to push the boundaries of what we typically like isn’t it?!?
All that to say, here is the first card of the six…
Since I created the wrong colour card first, I’ll share that first…

This is the “correct” Letraset Promarker coloured card that is in the magazine…

The stamp that I used is the “To the One I Love” stamp by I Brake for Stamps. I used this card HERE and HERE back in January and February as a Valentine’s Day card and a tag. I love it and it is SO cute! Can you tell that I love this stamp! Makes a great anniversary card as well! Take a peek at my other samples and if you like it as much as I do, you can pop over to the IBFS website and even save 10% by using my discount (SAVE10ROBYN).
I’ll be back tomorrow with card #2. Thank you SO much stopping by today and for all of the nice comments that you left for me the other day; I truly appreciate it. You brighten my day. (((hugs)))
I’m Published!
Hello Everyone,
I’m published in Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine’s (#94) August 2011 issue! I’m waiting on my copy to arrive here in the US as it is a UK magazine. I was commissioned to do the cards for this month’s giveaway (Promarkers by Letraset) as well as some “Congrats on completing your exams” cards, so 6 cards total. :c)

Here’s a quick look at one of my commissioned sets…

These are all stamps from I Brake for Stamps; which the magazine specifically requested that I use. :c) I’ll tell you about them when I post the actual cards. If you like the stamps, you can find them HERE, HERE, and HERE. Please feel free to save 10% by using my discount: SAVE10ROBYN
When we’re in Ireland, this is my all-time favorite magazine. Just wanted to share my news. I’ll be sharing the cards that I created over the next few days.
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you’re having a fabulous Thursday! xx
I’m in a Publication…
Hello Lovelies,
I have news that I’m super excited about that I wanted to share with you today. Several months ago, I was contacted by my favorite UK magazine (Cardmaking & Papercraft) about doing a commission for their June issue. You can check them out here. It’s a magazine that I get each month and can’t wait for each issue to come out, so I gladly accepted. I was to do the “3-Ways with Sketches” article. You can find it in the June issue (#92; pages 30 and 31).

I’m not sure that I’m allowed to photograph the actual magazine article to share with you, so I’ll just share the 3 cards that I made using the sketch that I created. Hope you like seeing them. I had a lot of fun with this. If you have any questions about any of the products that I used, please feel free to ask.
You can click on each photo to enlarge it…
The second part of the news that I’m excited about is the with the payment from this commission and other design commissions I was able to purchase a Cricut Expression 2 (the 5th Anniversary edition). I’m going to be stalking tutorials for all of the wonderful things that I can do with it. *Hopefully,* it will arrive this Saturday. I really hope I like it as much as I think I will. I tried the baby bug about 4 1/2 years ago and didn’t care for it, but the options now are SO much better. :c) I’ll let you know my thoughts on it though. Those of you who are Cricut savvy, I’d love to have any tips you’d be willing to share.
Thank you for stopping by to visit me today, I appreciate it very much and hope your day is a blessed one. (((Hugs)))
