‘Dear Friend’ Cricut Card

I recently purchased the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge from Close to My Heart and have really enjoyed creating with it.  It is more expensive than I wish it was, but I had been saving for it so it was kind of a planned splurge.  This scalloped card came from page 51 in the manual; which I cut at 5.5″.

I’ve used lots of Wild Orchid Crafts flowers (2-tone Gardenia, 20mm Open Roses, Sweetheart Blossoms, rosebuds, a Prima pearl flourish, seam binding and a Crafty Secrets image on the front.    Hope you enjoy seeing it.  If you have any questions, let me know.  Thanks so much for stopping by today. xx

You’re Tweet

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  Are you wearing any green?  If not you may end up with a pinch! It’s an absolutely gorgeous day here in Michigan with a sunny 76 degrees and I am absolutely LOVING it!  Going for a long walk with my hubby later this evening.  I had to share this cute little card with you in hopes that it brightens your day.

I was playing with my Cricut Expression 2 and my Gypsy.  I always enjoy using them to create.  I just got the 3 Birds on Parade Cricut Cartridge so wanted to use that as well.  This princess bird can be found on page 37 and I cut it out at 3.5″ and I cut the sentiment at 1.5″.  It is on page 28 in the manual. The stamp for the face is a Peachy Keen stamp called Critter Faces and I added a bit of white gel pen for the white of her little eyes.

I added an Action Wobble to the bird and boy does she twirl!  LOVE those things!  I have them back in stock in my store HERE.

I recently purchased paper called Paper Layerz so that I could see if I liked it.  Although I think it’s rather pricey, it did cut beautifully.  Not overly fond of each of the color combinations in it, but this one is pretty cute.  All of the layers for this card came from the one sheet of paper.  Let me know what you think, I’d love to have your opinion.

Well, I’m off to get supper ready and then put my walking shoes on.  It’s too nice of a day to be in the house. =)  Enjoy your day and your weekend! xx

Tea Party Box w/Trims

Hello Everyone and a very happy Saturday to each of you.  I’m so pleased to share a lovely, handmade cake box with you that I’ve made.  The box is made of sturdy card stock, but what I really would like to share is the lovely key embellishment that adorns the top.  I’ve made it using Creative Paperclay that I set in a mold by Articus Studio.

I used the Tie the Knot Cricut Cartridge to cut out the box using the “Fit to page” feature.  I believe it cut it out at 10.30 inches.  The base is Kraft cardstock from Hobby Lobby and the paper line that I used is Butterfly Garden by Pink Paislee; which is one of my favorites.

I’ve added lots of Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and some Prima pearls, lace from my store and ribbons I’ve had in my stash.

This box is available for purchase HERE.

I’ve added 4 yards of really pretty rosette ribbons on the inside as well as some surprises.

Okay, back to the Creative Paperclay key.  I painted it and then applied some Rub ‘n Buff.  This is the same technique that I shared last month in my post if you’d like to refer back to the tutorial.  You can do so many things to create custom embellishments using Creative Paperclay.  The possibilities are truly endless.  I love this wonderful, non-toxic, bio-degradeable, all natural, air dry clay!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I always appreciate it.  Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! xx

Quick House Card

Some friends of ours just purchased a new home and I wanted to create a card for them. I made this card using my Cricut. I love it when cards come together really quickly.  I think it turned out pretty cute, too.

I used a house from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge and then welded it into a card using my Gypsy.

I set it to cut at 5.25 inches. I layered a piece that I cut in the shape of the house over it, so it would still have a nice peak to it. (Welding it would take some of that away).
The papers that I used are by Prima from their Madeline collection. I added some Wild Orchid Crafts Sweetheart Blossoms to the cute little flower box, added some Martha Stewart Glitter Glue around to accent, and then stamped the “Home Sweet Home” onto the door.

Oh, I am so sorry that my comments section has been a bit wonky. I have received several e-mails or messages that people are unable to leave comments. The reason was unintentional, but I had installed a spam blocker and didn’t realize the setting was causing error messages for you all as well. I *think* I have it fixed, now. (Finger’s crossed). I love reading your comments and hope I have corrected the problem.

As if that wasn’t enough, I didn’t realize it, but Google has deleted the Friends/Followers box from all non-blogger blogs.  So, I found that out about a day late only after I saw a blank box under my “Followers” sidebar header.  =(  I use WordPress, so it effected my site.  If you would still like to follow, you can do so in the upper left side bar.  Hope you will!  Thanks so much for stopping by. I really do appreciate it. xx

Nuts about you card

Happy Friday to each of you.  I made this card several weeks back but don’t think I posted it here, so thought I’d share it.

Cute Squirrel card

I’ve used the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge to cut the squirrel, acorn and tree on my Cricut Expression 2.  I then embossed each of the tree parts with embossing folders.  The background papers are all from the Harvest Gathering by DCWV.   I made one of my little spring wiggly things to add to the back of the card so it wobbles back and forth.  It’s so cute.

Hope you’ve enjoyed seeing it.  Thanks for stopping by today. xx

Cricut Anniversary Card

Hello Everyone,  I made a card for some super close friends of ours who are celebrating 35 years of marriage.  It’s actually our Pastor and his wife, and after church yesterday we all had an anniversary party for them.  Super fun, and I’m still super full from all of the food (it was a potluck).  I wanted to share with you the card that I made for them.

I’ve used my Cricut Expression 2, my Gypsy, and 2 cartridges; Tie the Knot and Elegant Edges.  It had been a few weeks since I’d had time to play with them, so it was a fun card to make.

Anniversary Card Cricut

I used the Elegant Edges cartridge for the card base, the tag and the “35″ font.  The pearl paper layer came from the Elegant Edges cartridge.  I’ll give the cut sizes down below.

Someone on YouTube asked what envelope I used for the card.  It fit perfectly into one of those clear envelopes from Stampin’ Up!  You can see in the photo below.

The lace, single pearls, and flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I’ve used the 15mm open roses in cream, a 35mm Cranberry Trellis Rose, Guipure lace, 3mm self-adhesive pearls, and 5mm self-adhesive pearls.

Here’s a closer look:

I just love using their products (even before I started designing for them). :)

I was super rushed in the video, but decided to upload it to YouTube.  Thought you might like to see it as well.
