Updates and 3 cute cards…

Happy National/International Scrapbooking Day to each of you!  I hope you’re enjoying reading extra blog posts, National Scrapbooking Day sales, and watching crafting videos!  I hope to make a layout yet today, but I wanted to give you all an update.  I apologize that I’ve been a bit MIA lately.  A LOT going on in my personal life.  So thankful for the wonderful support of my wonderful husband, children, extended family and friends.   I consider you, my faithful readers, as friends so I wanted to share a bit of what is going on.  God is in control of it all, and I know He knows what He’s doing, so that brings strength and comfort beyond measure.

To be honest, I’ve not done a whole lot of crafting lately.  I’ve been busy with doctor’s appointments, tests, etc. that has left me a bit blah.  Nothing life-threatening, thankfully!  I have made a couple of cards but have several mini albums that I am wanting to work on as soon as I am able to.  This next week is going to be another busy week.  On Monday, I head back to the University of Michigan Hospital for an MRI and an EKG.  Fun!  I am not typically claustrophobic, but MRI’s are NOT my thing.  lol

Then, on Thursday, I turn the big *40*!  Yikes!  How did that happen so fast?  My hubby and I were talking yesterday and he joyfully informed me that we are now the age that MY parents were when my husband and I started dating 23 years ago.  Do I think 40 is old?  Not any more! =)

Another update is that I have resigned from being on the I Brake for Stamps design team.  I enjoyed the 22 months that I was a part of their team, but with everything that is going on…it was time.    I know several of you have let me know that you’ve tried to use my code and it didn’t work.  I’ve e-mailed you back, but that is why.

I do have a couple of cards to share with you today!  I’ve enjoyed learning to use the Cricut Imagine!  The first two cards are printed/cut from that.  Wow!  I love Cricut products!  Super fun!

I added an Action Wobble to the back of the teapot/cup image so it jiggles back and forth.  So cute!  just like the tea was pouring into the cup. =)  I gave this to my mom as a Thank You for attending our church’s Mother/Daughter Banquet last week.

This happy little card was sent to our son, who is away at college.  Simple but fun.

I made 2 of this card and gave them to dear friends who lost their father recently.    Sadly, these cards are needed but they are my least favorite to make.  I hope they brightened their day just a little bit.

So, that’s the update from me for today.  I do appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to e-mail me and send messages asking how I am doing.  You mean a lot to me.  I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day. xx

Birthday Teapot Card

Hi Everyone, I hope you’re having a great day today.  I have a fun, shaped card to share with you today.  One of my favorite things to collect is teapots and tea cups.  I started when my girls were little so we could enjoy hours and hours of tea parties.  Over the years, we’ve made a lot of special memories and have had treasured times “playing” tea party.    When I saw the Cricut cartridge called Love you a Latte, I knew I had to get it.  The special times with my girls is what inspired today’s card.I used my Cricut and Gypsy to create the shape using pink textured cardstock.  The sentiment stamp on the outside is from the Every Day Phrases.

This is the inside sentiment (below).  It comes from the Inspirational Phrases sheet; which is my all-time favorite set from IBFS. =)
This card was a lot of fun to create and I hope you’re able to see just how versatile these wonderful stamps sheets are.  Love them!
Thanks for stopping by today.  If you have any questions, let me know. ;)

Altered Glassine Bag Project

One of my favorite things to do is to alter things and customize them into something that I can turn into a gift for someone.  This project is a simple one and could be used for any occasion.  I made this one a birthday-theme, but it this little gift packaging could be part of a table setting, a party favor, small thinking of you gift filled with candies just to let someone know that you think they’re special.

The bag measures 8″ x 5 1/2″ so is quite a good size for gift giving of small items.

  • The layers are from the Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge and I ran it through my Big Shot using the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The oval is using the Nestabilities.
  • I’ve paper-pieced the stamped image using Echo Park papers.

A Keepsake Wedding Mini Album

Hi Everyone,  I’ve been working on this mini album for the past week or so and today, I finished it!  =)  That’s always a good feeling.  I’m really happy with how it came together.  Especially since monochromatic colors are not an easy color scheme for me to use.    It was a lot of fun, though.

Please be sure and click on each of the photos to enlarge…

I’ve used lots of WOC flowers, bling, pearls, tags, metal embellies, die cuts, etc.

Products Used:

Wild Orchid Crafts (Tea Roses, Summer Blooms, Tulips, Gardenia Spray, Satin Bows, Sweetheart Blossoms, Organza Rosette Trim, Heart Pins, Heart Accents, Venice Lace Butterfly)

Scrapbuck.com was kind enough to provide me with the wedding tags, metal cake charms, key charm, etc.  Thank you so much!

Cricut Expression 2, Gypsy, Tie the Knot Cricut Cartridge, Chipboard, Embellishments from my stash, DCWV Formal Affair 12×12 Paper Stack,  Frame, Doily, Die Cuts, Tags, Metal charms, Seam Binding

Think Spring!

Hi Everyone,  I have a Spring/Easter-themed card to share with you today using the Bunnies & Watering Can stamp from IBFS.  I’ve created a shaped card that measures 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ using my Cricut.
Shaped handmade Easter card
This card is for sale HERE.
I colored in the image using my Letraset Promarkers, cut it out and then popped it up using dimensional foam.  The “Think Spring” stamp came from the Every Day Phrases sheet.  The inside sentiment says, “Happy Easter” that also came from the same sheet.
Happy Spring!

An Easter and a Spring Card

Hi Everyone,  I have 2 cards to share with you today.  It’s been such a beautiful day/week! I’m so excited that it is officially Spring as of today!

This cute little Egg Basket stamp from IBFS makes creating Easter cards a snap. I’ve colored it in using m Letraset Promarkers and I then cut it out.
I’ve added Martha Stewart glitter glue to the bow/ribbon and have covered the eggs in the basket with Glossy Accents.
I’ve added the ‘Happy Easter’ sentiment; which comes from the Every Day Phrases sheet to the inside of the card.
This second card is using the Every Day Phrases sheet as well, I’ve stamped the Think Spring to the banner and then curled it a bit to add some dimension.  I’ve added some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, as well.
