411 Punch Organization

As far as punch storage, I have found that the wall mounted bars that you can pick up at stores like IKEA are the most convenient, easiest to reach, and best space-saving way to store all of my punches in one place. I don’t think they look half bad as part of my stamp room decor either. :o)
In the photos above is what I have been doing for a long time to determine which punches work well with which Stampin’ Up! stamp sets. It is actually very simple and cost effective. There may be better ways out there, but I am just sharing what works for me.
I take our Stampin’ Up! small cello bags; which measure 3”x5” (recipe card size), and some cardstock measured appropriately. I then make one sample punch for each of my punches onto the 3” x 5” cardstock pieces. How many fit on each piece of cardstock just depends on the punch. I punch my circles together, the ovals together, the squares, the labels, hearts, stars, etc. I slide each of the cardstock pages into its own cello bag to act as a page protector. You could laminate it, if you want to. I punch a circle in the corner of each page and run a ring through it. My “book” has 17 pages in it, and most pages have just 2 punches per page. I can then use it to hold over a stamp set in the catalog to see which punch I like best with the respective stamp set.
This method has worked for me very well, and because it’s not very large, I can keep it handy instead of tucking it away. I also photocopy the punch page of our Stampin’ Up! catalog onto vellum cardstock and tuck it into my catalog and keep it there as I often travel with my catalog, and like to “window” shop for my next purchase. Having the vellum sheet in there helps me with ideas when determining which stamp sets will work best with project ideas that I have.
Anyway, that’s a little 411 on punch storage and organization. I hope it helps you. If you have ways that work best for you, or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to e-mail me. I always enjoy hearing feedback from you.
Until next time, let’s get busy and “injoy” some stampin’,

Bag Tags

Aren’t these little guys adorable? You can use them on diaper bags with pertinent information about the baby/tot such as: name, feeding times, allergies, special notes, etc. I think they would also be a cute accessory on carry-on luggage, and they are absolutely LOVED by school-age girls to put on their book bags/backpacks. I made the “K” one for my teenager today, and my 10 year old made hers with me (the “S” one). She thought it was great fun! She loves creating with the Big Shot.
For the “K” one, I used the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and our In Color Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbons in Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, and Crushed Curry. I really like how it turned out, and so did my daughter whom I made it for.
My little helper made hers with the Tall Tales DSP, accenting it with Brilliant Blue, So Saffron, and Rose Red cardstock. Didn’t she do a good job? I think it is absolutely adorable. :o)
I made a video tutorial on how to create these for the special people in your life. It takes a while to download with the slow internet connection I have at our new house, but it should be available to you soon.
Hope you are having a blessed summer so far.

Valentine’s Day-9 Gift Ideas

Valentine’s Day gift ideas, 9 different handmade projects all for that special Valentine.
Flock Together Gift Set
This was, by far, the most enjoyable project I’ve made in quite a while; which is saying a LOT! I truly enjoy every moment that I get to spend stamping and creating, but some projects just give you that warm fuzzy feelin’. Know what I mean? Okay, maybe that’s a bit far-fetched. Suffice it to say, I had a lot of fun today making this! For the cut-out window, I used regular transparency film that you find at the office supply store. I saw a Valentine’s Day themed box that Liz Miller made; which I absolutely LOVED. I found out that the pattern was actually designed by Becky R., so although the paper selection is mine, the wonderful pattern can be obtained from Becky. Thank you Liz and Becky for sharing your creativity!
I hope you’ve found something that inspires you today to “injoy” some stampin’!
Blessings,
Robyn
