Card for a Friend

Hi Ladies,

I was just looking at my You Tube channel and saw that I didn’t share this video on my blog.  I recorded it on June 26 using my iPhone, so it’s a bit smaller than usual.  Sorry about that.

And here’s the original card once again…

It’s been so busy around here, that I constantly feel like I’m playing “catch-up”.  I have been posting quite a bit lately to try and share things that I’ve been working on but haven’t had time to post here on my blog.  Hope you’ve been enjoying it.

Have a blessed day! xx

Happy 4th of July America!

Happy Independence Day America!

(Scroll down to see some recent projects I’ve made.)

I hope each of you that call America your home has a blessed, safe, fun day making lots of memories with those whom you hold dear.  I am so happy to be home for this 4th of July, as I’ve missed being here the past several years.  There’s just a special, indescribable feeling of joy and good ‘ole American pride in the air that has to be experienced first-hand.  I feel blessed beyond measure.

Today, after the parade, our family is heading back out to my parent’s cottage on the lake to spend the day with family.  I love family get-togethers with all of the fun re-telling of special memories, lots of laughs, and making new memories…and of course the cookout, can’t forget the festive picnic fare!  Here’s a couple of pics of 2 of my babies that I took a few weeks ago when we were at the cottage.  Lots of fun times, hope you enjoy seeing them.

I’m looking forward to seeing some fireworks as well.  I love those things…can’t stand the smell, but I love the effect in the sky above the lake.  So purdy!

And here are some projects that I’ve created but haven’t had a chance to post.  I’m not going to take time to explain each one, but would be more than happy to answer any questions about what products and techniques I’ve used, so please feel free to leave a comment with any questions, etc.

Yummy Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers.  Can’t believe my watermark is covering them!  The nerve! lol

There, that’s better! :c) On my youtube channel, I explain what flowers these are from WOC.  You can see my channel HERE.

This card has my favorite Wild Orchid Crafts lace and some sweet 15 mm open roses.

I hope that you are having a wonderful day, wherever you are.  Thanks for stopping by today, I truly appreciate it.  xx

Vintage Sewing Machine

Hi Ladies,

I Brake for Stamps
I created this thank you card for a sweet elderly lady that just did some sewing for my daughters. The background stamp is the vintage sewing machine from I Brake for Stamps. It’s very intricate and detailed. The card base is Kraft, the patterned paper is from the Mariposa stack, and the sewing machine due cut was cut with my Cricut E2 (I added Rick Candy Stickles to it). The seam binding is from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the true vintage button came from my stash.

Be sure and check out I Brake for Stamps, and if make a purchase, please feel free to use my discount to save 10% off, it’s SAVE10ROBYN

Hope everyone us having a great day! xx

Quick Share…

Hello Lovelies,

I have a quick post for today. I’m sitting at Tim Hortons enjoying a fast cold coffee on the go. I have several cards that I’ve made recently, but have not had internet access to be able to share them with you. Rather than schedule a post for later in the week, I thought I’d share them with you today. I will be posting my regular I Brake for Stamps project on Wednesday, so be sure and stop back by if you would. :c)

The first one is a card that I made for a Bridal shower that I attended… I paper pieced the cake. The seam binding, lace, and beautiful flowers came from Wild Orchid Crafts. The paper all came from Hobby Lobby as did the stamp set.

This next one is an Anniversary card for some friends of ours. The stamp set is Lily of the Valley, the seam binding is from Wild Orchid Crafts, the paper collection is G45 Le Romantique. I colored in the image using my Letraset Promarkers.

I’m almost out of time, but will share one more card (I have 3 more to share later though). This last one is a birthday card for one of my husband’s friends. I really don’t “love” making masculine cards, but hope you enjoy seeing it.

Dan's birthday card

The paper collection is G45 a Proper Gentlemen. I used the Tim Holtz Hanging Sign die and cut it out using thin chipboard backed onto the patterned paper. Couldn’t resist adding a little bling, but tried to keep it masculine. I cut the name out using a Tim Holtz font sizzlet (can’t recall the name because I’m not at home). I added Glossy Accents to the letters.

Wish I had more time to share the rest, but will be back on Wednesday with a IBFS card. A little update on our family. We’re still staying at a temporary place. For those of you that may know, we’re staying above our Church’s Christian school in the little apartment; which is a tad bigger than a hotel room. We bought a house, but it’s a fixer-upper. We wanted to have a home in the States so our son would have a place to come back to when he wanted a break from the college dorm. Plus, it will be nice to have a place to go each time we’re back in the States. So, we’ve been busy with home renovation projects and just had our son’s graduation Open House this past Saturday. It’s been crazy busy for our family, but we’ve gotten a lot accomplished in the 5 weeks we’ve been back in the States. We’re hoping to be able to move into our house in a couple of weeks; which will be a HUGE blessing. The place we’re staying doesn’t have a kitchen, so it’s been interesting trying to feed my family of 5. We’re thankful though; it’s been great. Our 2 dogs have been staying with friends since the day we arrived, so the kids are really starting to miss them. We’ve picked them up for the day a couple of times. Looking forward to “normal” again! Not sure I even know what that is, but I definitely know what it ISN’T. lol

That’s all the time I have, the family is really ready to leave me at Tim Hortons if I don’t get up soon. jk Thanks so much for stopping by, I truly appreciate it. I love each of my crafty sistahs and hope you’re having a great day wherever you are. (((hugs)))

Happy Wednesday

Hello Everyone,  I hope you are having a fabulous Wednesday for yourself!  It’s rainy with thunderstorms here in Michigan, but it’s nice all the same.  I don’t mind the rain really…well, that is unless I have gardening that I want to do.  I don’t, so it’s nice to be inside and hear the thunder crashing.

I made this card last week for a dear friend who lost the love of her life.  It was very, very sad.  He meant a great deal to my hubby.  He had a long battle with his illness, but is doing fine now so that helps everyone feel a bit better.  His wife, my friend, is in her 60′s and is doing as good as can be expected.  I’m sure she would appreciate your prayers though.  Her name is Kathi.

It has sort of a vintage feel to it.  I used the Mirabelle stack from Hobby Lobby, I believe it’s by The Paper Studio.  I used an eyelet punch on a script sheet from the stack, and then cut out the layer and image using a Nestabilities set.  The pretty flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts, 10mm and 15mm open roses.  You know how much I love those!  The lace trim is SU!, and the pearls are Prima.  The sentiment is also an SU! set.  The image is from a Crafty Secrets sheet called “Birds and Blossoms.”

I hope it brought a bit of encouragement to her, and that you enjoy seeing it.  I like to create and give…otherwise I end up with a huge stack of finished projects sitting around not doing anyone any good. I feel like a handmade card is like a hug with a fold in the middle. :c)

Thank you for stopping by today.  I always appreciate it, and your kind comments. xx

Happy Mother’s Day

A very happy that you stopped by “Hello” to each of you. I am so sorry that I’ve not been able to post in the past 2 weeks. Our trip to the States was uneventful, and we’re getting somewhat settled in for the summer here.   Thank you to those of you who mentioned you would be praying for my family. (((hugs))) It’s just been crazy-busy since we got here. We’ve been visiting family and friends that we hadn’t seen in 2 years, getting ready for my son’s graduation next weekend, and catching up on LOTs of paperwork,  but it’s been a great 2 weeks. I’ve missed you all though. I FINALLY was able to get some of my craft supplies unpacked and take a few minutes to create this card.

Mother's Day card WOC

The background paper may make it look a bit wonky:  I had to take the picture at night and this was the only background paper that didn’t alter the card color too much.  What I’ve used is Webster’s Pages papers, a Stampin’ Up! stamp set for the sentiment and the yummy flowers and seam binding from Wild Orchid Crafts (open rose, Hydrangea bloom, and pink siam seam binding).  I cut the ovals out using my Nesties and Big Shot.    I loved using the Adirondack gold dabber on the edges of all of the layers.  I am limited on what supplies I have here with me, so it’s missing some touches that I would have liked to make, but hope you enjoy seeing it.

Thank you again for stopping by today.  I truly appreciate it and hope that those of you who are privileged to be mothers have a fabulous and memorable Mother’s Day today!  I appreciate each of you! xx
