Mother’s Day Card…

Hi Everyone, I first would like to apologize for not posting in a couple of weeks.  My kiddos have been on Spring break, we did some traveling and of course had a wonderful Easter.  It is soooo nice to be able to enjoy some nice Spring weather, isn’t it!?! =)

Can you believe it’s the 18th of April already?  Wow, time is flying and Mother’s Day (here in N. America, anyway) will be here before we know it.   The date this year is May 13th.   I’m planning on sharing several simple Mother’s Day projects over the next couple of weeks.  If you have any requests, please let me know.  Otherwise, I have a list of things I’ll work off of.

So, for todays card, I’ve used Hats from I Brake for Stamps.  It has a vintage, Victorian feel to it so I went with a more muted color scheme.

The card measures 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.

I’ve used my Letraset Promarkers to color in the hat and stands.

Of course, I had to add my favorite Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.  I’ve also used a metal filigree corner, seam binding and lace from WOC.  The charm is from my stash and finally, the paper collection that I’ve used is the Miss Caroline “Fiddlesticks.”

I mentioned in the blog title that this is meant to be a Mother’s Day card, but it would also make a great birthday, get well, thinking of you, etc.

If you have any questions, let me know.  xx

Sweet Wee Suzy…

Hey there, and a very happy Thursday to you!  I wanted to share a card that I created this past weekend that I think is just adorable.  I’m so smitten with the Wee stamps that are available through the IBFS website.  This little sweetie is Wee Suzy.  She is just precious!

I decided to create an easel card; which measures 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.  So much fun to make and I really like the rich rose tones.

This card is available for sale in my store HERE.

Here are some more photos of different detail views.  You can click on each to enlarge.

An Anniversary Card…

Hi Everyone,  I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine’s Day.  Mine was really nice, it was my hubby and my 22 Valentine’s Day together.  Boy, time sure flies by.  It sure was a cold-weather one though this year.  We got quite a bit of snow so my girls had a 2-hour school delay.    If you have a little sunshine and warmth to spare would you send some my way?  Burrrr!  Hopefully, this will brighten things up a bit; I have an anniversary card to share with you today.  I’ve used the Bride and Groom Couple stamp from IBFS and some purdy Wild Orchid Craftsflowers.

The card measures 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″.  I’ve used my largest rectangle nestie to cut the image out and then cut a black mat with my paper trimmer.  I’ve added some seam binding and a vintage-looking brad and a bit of bling.  Hope you enjoy seeing it.  If you decide to head on over to the I Brake for Stamps store, please feel free to save a bit of money by using my personal discount SAVE10ROBYN!  It’s more fun to shop that way, isn’t it? ;-D

Okay, I’m off to go visit my grandfather.  I always look forward to Wednesdays when we get to go to Toledo, OH to see him.

Thanks for popping in to see what I’ve been up to.  I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week. xx

Get Well Soon Card

Hi Everyone, it’s Robyn here today.  I have a Get Well card that I made for a friend of mine.  I hope it brightens her day and lets her know how special I think she is.  I’ve used 3 different stamp sheets; which happen to be all 3 on my favorite’s list.  The outside sentiment came from Every Day Phrases, the lovely butterflies came from Butterfly Kisses, and last but not least…my all-time favorite sheet…Inspirational Phrases.  I use that sheet, it seems, for every card I create!  Very versatile!I fussy cut the butterflies and only adhered them to the card along the thorax so the wings would be dimensional.

Hope you enjoy seeing it.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I always appreciate your time.  Remember, if you would like to make a purchase on the I Brake for Stamps website, you can alway save 10% off on your entire order by using my personal discount code:  SAVE10ROBYN.  Enjoy!  Hope you have a great rest of your week!

‘Thinking of You’ Card – IBFS

Hi there and happy Wednesday to you.  Hope you’re week is going good.  First, I just want to say, ‘Thank you’ for stopping by my blog.  I know there are thousands upon thousands of paper crafting sites out there and it really means a lot to me that you take the time to stop by and see what I’ve been creating;  I truly do appreciate it.  Just sayin’! :)

Okay, so I have a card today that is a sad card to create, but a very needed type of card.  It’s a Thinking of you/Sympathy card.  :(  One of our son’s college classmates just lost her grandfather and although I don’t know her I know what she is going through.  I just wanted to send her a card to let her know that our family cares.

I embossed the sentiment on the front and for the life of me, I couldn’t get a full card picture without the glare.  Sorry about that.

Sympathy card

I’ve used My Minds Eye Portabella Road 6×6 paper pad and Stampin’ Up! Not Quite Navy card stock for the papers.  I really like the sentiment for the verse, but also in the way it is written.  I like the flourish around it that creates a sort of frame look.  It made it easy to cut out.  This stamp is called:  Perfect Peace.  Here’s a closer look at it (hopefully with a little less glare).

For the inside of the card, I’ve used 2 different stamp sheets from I Brake for Stamps.  The phrase came from the Inspirational Phrases set, and the butterflies came from the Butterfly Kisses set.    You can order anything off of the I Brake for Stamps website and get 10% off using my personal discount code…it’s SAVE10ROBYN.  It’s more fun to shop and save isn’t it?! :)  Enjoy!

Inside Inspirational Phrase.

Here’s a little video… (If you are getting this post via e-mail and the video appears as a black box, you can click on the post title to view it).

Thank you again for stopping by today.  You’re super special! xx

Creative Paperclay…

Hi Everyone,

I’ll have 2 posts today as it is Wednesday so my regular IBFS project will post a little later…with some exciting news I might add. :)  For this project, I’m really excited to share my first experience with Creative Paperclay with you.  For those of you who are not familiar with this product, it is a very easy to work with modeling clay.  It comes out of the package soft and ready to use.  It is an air dry clay as well, so no need to bake in the oven.  If you’d like to learn more about it you can read more on the  Creative Paperclay blog or on their website here.

When I was thinking of all of the possibilities for using this fun product, the first thought I had was to create an Autumn project (since it’s my favorite season).  I immediately could see a pumpkin incorporated into one of my projects.  I decided to make a custom gift box with a card on the top.

The box measures 7″x7″x 1″ and the card topper measures 6″x6″.

Of course, I had to add some gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts (35mm Trellis Rose, 20mm Open Rose, 10mm Open Rose, and Summer Blooms).  These are available on the I Brake for Stamps website (get a 10% discount by using SAVE10ROBYN).

I shared the details of how I created the cute little Creative Paperclay pumpkin on the video below.  I truly enjoyed this product and can see so many uses for it.  You will definitely be seeing more of it in my projects. :)

As always, thank you so much for stopping by today.  I truly appreciate it.  Hope you’re Wednesday is a special one! :)
