Bentley Bear Birthday
I couldn’t wait to ink up the free stamp set included in the February issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft. Its such a cute little Bentley Bear set. My daddy’s Birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks and I’ve been needing to create a card for him. I thought since he LOVES old cars this image would be just up his street. He’s retired from Chrysler Proving Grounds (where they design and test prototype vehicles) so again, another match with this cute little stamp.

It measures 4″ x 8″ so that I could mail it in a standard UK-sized business envie. The image was colored in using my Letraset Promarkers. I really find coloring with them relaxing. The edge punch is by Martha Stewart. I sometimes struggle with masculine cards as I tend to want to add frill and foofoo to my cards, so I though the Martha Stewart border was a good compromise for me. I really like that it is a relatively flat card as well – no little bumps to get caught in those Postal machines. I did pop the stamped image up with dimensional foam, but that’s it.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I always appreciate that you take the time to visit and also for many of your kind comments. Hope you’re having a great week so far. xx

I love the card. The colors are great and I know he will love it.
What a special card for your Dad! I can’t believe that stamp was a freebie…it’s adorable! I really like the little calendar added on the card, featuring his birth date! It’s a wonderful and masculine card! Thanks for sharing it! Hope you’re having a happy week!

Hi Robyn,
Your Dad will love it — especially since you put so much thought (and restraint for the foofoo!) in it. I wish the US magazines were so generous! I will have to check my Barnes & Noble or Borders for that magazine. It is worth it just for the cute stamp! And your coloring on this is great — you are mastering shadowing and shading so well (wish I could).
Hugs to you, too!
