Christmas Coasters
I created these coasters about 5 weeks ago but for some reason they never made it to my blog. I was looking through pictures in my iPhoto and spotted them. I stamped onto these tumbled tiles using StazOn ink to create Christmas coasters. I added felt pads to the bottoms so they wouldn’t scratch the furniture. I also created this custom box to gift them in using acetate and RidingHood Red Stampin’ Up! cardstock.

I hope everyone is fully enjoying their Christmas preparations – can’t believe Christmas is a week from tomorrow already! Still loads of things to do. Had an adventure today as another snowstorm landed across Ireland. We had promised our children a 1/2 day of school today to be able to do some Christmas shopping so we didn’t want to disappoint their sweet little hearts. :c) We went to our favorite Indian restaurant (love it!) and then headed to the shopping mall. We had such a great time out and my tummy is still sore from laughing. While we were oblivious to the weather while we were in the mall it had snowed several more inches. We knew the main roads would be okay, but the little country lane we live on…now that’s another story! That’s where the adventure came in. We have a long-standing family motto, “Everyday is either a holiday or an adventure in our home!” Okay, so we’re heading down our lane, we approached the first of two hills between the main road and our house. With wheels spinning, car chugging as sweet hubby drops it into low gear; the kids are loving it. We made it up the first of two hills. Woohoo! Not so good on the second hill though. We got stuck…really stuck! We went slipping backwards into a hedge in fact. “Never fear!” exclaims my favorite neighborhood super hero. He and son get out (and of course we all want to pile out of the car to look and gawk – it’s just what you do, right?) Superhero sends us home as it’s just a 1/2 mile walk – up hill (both ways).haha I get the girls safely in the house, grab the shovel and a flashlight (as dusk approaches) and head back out into the semi-arctic inclement weather to take them to son and superhero. To make a very long story even longer (jk) hubby and son lifted the car out of the hedge and back onto the road, and somehow got the car turned back around, headed back out to the main road, and made it safely home by a different route. I wasn’t sure how long he would be so after I surprised him with the shovel and flashlight, I walked back home. It was so beautiful out with the snow hanging on the tree branches – it just made for such a nice walk. To top it off, Kendalle had a nice cup of hot tea waiting for me when I got back. Such a sweetie! So that’s my adventure for the day. I’m still smiling. :c)
Hope you’re having a great week. Thank you for stopping by today.

:)
Love the Christmas coasters!! The country roads are quite a challenge in this weather, we just about made it home!!
Oh I love them!! I made some about a month ago for gifts also! Aren’t they fun to make!!?! Hugs and thanks for sharing your amazing work.
Your coasters turned out beautifully Robyn! Great gift idea. I loved your adventure story. :-) Glad you weren’t too far from home. I have no snow experience since on the rare occasions we get any it melts before it can accumulate. Sounds like a great family memory to me. Hugs!
I love your story. What a wonderful memory. :) It sounds like a lovely place you live.
never been there, but your retelling the story makes me see it, how lovely. thanks
I love making coasters! These turned out beautiful! I made them once by printing out a black & white photo of the George Washington Bridge onto tissue paper. I then used Mod Podge to adhere it to the coaster…love that!
The coasters are stunning Robyn. Your family adventure sounds fun & scary! Luckily you were all ok anyway!!
really like the coasters. What an adventure. We need our little adventures now and them.
